May 30, 2010, Sunday, was Shutter 8’s summer outing. Activities includes seminar on Basic Photography (Composition), introduction and induction of new members, and new sets of officers for 2010, on-the-spot photo contest and eating… heeeee.. 🙂
(Mountain View Resort)
I woke early and found out that I was the only one left at home, because my papa and mama and my sister went to attend a mass. When I was about to go, I realized I don’t have coins for the fare, and I was planning to eat at Jollibee before heading to the place where we’re supposed to meet, so I got 100 peso bill from my mom’s purse.. hehehe…but I texted my mom that I did get one.. hehehe
Met up at McDonalds JY Square. I thought I arrived late and thought I wouldn’t be able to hitch a ride in one of those who brought their cars but I’m glad I arrived just in time and enough for me to eat my breakfast, a Hamdesal and a cold pineapple juice..woot!
One of the older member of the Shutter 8, which was the speaker of the seminar, asked if I don’t have someone with me (which he meant if there were no other girls) because I was the only girl that time. But when we arrived at the place, I’m glad there were three girls all in all.. hhehehe.
Basic photography seminar tackled Composition, and as the speakers said, it cannot be thought. What he discussed was that on how to position your subject to have a beautiful composition and he showed us many examples as well regarding composition. I just learned that triangle position do exists… hehehe…After the seminar was the on-the-spot photography contest. We were told to go everywhere the place (Mt. View Resort) to take some pictures that best represents a good/beautiful composition.
And here’s what I passed among the many photos I took.
(2nd placer On the spot photo contest)
I wasn’t really expecting to win, I just take some pictures and pass this one. One of the judges even made a comment that this was like a Time magazine picture… hahahahahah… I’m just so overwhelmed because two of the judges were from the prestigious newpaper publisher, SunStar and they’re like photographers long time ago, when digital cameras were not yet in. 🙂 It was our pleasure to have them both, wooot!
Here are some of the shots I got before choosing the above shots to be my entry. 🙂
(Shot inspired from the triangle positioning of the subject…and I took this one literally…hahaha..)
(The road to infinity…my last shot!)
(Summer is almost over!)
(I’ve noticed that being with you, I smile more often, I anger a little less quickly, the sun shines a little brighter, and life is so much sweeter. For being with you takes me to a different place: a place called love.”)
(and my love…clouds.. :).. they’re like my favorite cotton candies.. hahaha)
It was a day full of fun and excitement and I get to meet professional photographer as well. I have learned a lot from this simple activity. 🙂
