Dinner at Harbor City, bumper cars, bowling and midnight snack?!
Yesterday my office mates decided that we go on a bumper cars trip and bowling after work, while we were on a break eating Cornetto. Recalling all those on the spot activities we’ve had before and we just felt that we were rich because the day before yesterday was our payday.
We had our thrifty dinner at Harbor City and had our first planned activity for the night…bumper cars…
Bumper car is the generic name for a type of flat ride consisting of several small electric cars which draw power from the floor and/or ceiling, and which are turned on and off remotely by an operator. They are also known as dodgem cars, or simply dodgems, the last name being the usual term in British English.
The boys had their turn first. We cheered and booooed them. They were like big boys in small cars… hehehe.. shouting…and bumping each others cars…
“I cannot even imagine where I would be today were it not for that handful of friends who have given me a heart full of joy. Let’s face it, friends make life a lot more fun.”
After having two rounds in bump cars we went to SM bowling center but it was full so we headed to Gaisano Bowling Complex in Talamban. We rented two lanes, one for the boys and the other was for the girls. It’s an all girls and all boys match. We were having fun then that I forgot to take a picture…hehehe..sorry… 😀
Bowling is a sport in which players attempt to score points by rolling a bowling ball along a flat surface, usually a wooden or synthetic surface, either into objects called pins or to get close to a target ball.
We were quite hesitant at first to buy the socks because it’s quite expensive. But the price didn’t stop us from playing the game. We did actually bought the socks, we just brought it home so we could use it again. There are important things needed to play bowling.
The usage of random house balls is not recommendable to attain consistency in bowling movements. Each time a ball is switched, the weight may vary affecting arm motions. A custom bowling ball or one that fits well and has the right weight for the hand is also a key aspect to a good throwing technique as it allows a proper hand motion. In general, bowlers should hold the ball with the two fingers of the dominant hand.
Bowling shoes possess an intermediate style between regular dressing shoes and the athletic type. The sole of the non sliding foot is generally made of rubber like you would find on a basketball sneaker to create stability, while the sliding foot is made of a much softer material that allows a bowler to slide into his release. These shoes can be bought, but they are normally rented.
A bowling glove is a glove with a metal wrist support and a textured face that offers support in order to enhance grip. There are different glove styles, including those with a full metal finger design and ones with an uncovered portion for the middle and ring fingers.
But we don’t have the gloves so we just played the game with our bare hands and with our big arms…hahaha..
I never really thought that bowling could give health benefits. When I got home and told my mother on my experience on playing bowling the first time. She told me that it is good for the body, and when I looked up at Wikipedia, you really can get health benefits in playing it.
Bowling is an anaerobic type of physical exercise, similar to walking with free weights. Bowling helps in burning calories and works muscle groups not usually exercised. The flexing and stretching in bowling works tendons, joints, ligaments, and muscles in the arms and promotes weight loss. Apart from the physical benefits it also has psychosocial benefits, strengthening friendships or creating new ones in groups.
I wonder why we had our midnight snacks? midnight breakfast?! Hmm..Hmmm…bowling balls are quite heavy and hmmm…needs a lot of energy for one to throw it…so…the result…after the bowling trip we should be going home but the first lady in the front seat want to eat Tapsilog and the driver by the name of D made an instant suggestion. And tadaaaa… we found ourselves really hungry… wehehhehehe…
(Zhaylah asked for my phone to get this one)
Tapsilog in the house yow! Ricci and Zilah ordered Tapa King with a special heart-shaped sunny side up egg.
(and this one also… )
I’m having fun last night and even though something’s bothering my mind, still it didn’t ruined the night trip with my office mates. Zhaylah and Dai Mel, you know what I mean and I think I am through with it. I hope so. (chuckle)
Next stop. Today.
